COAL & COKE MAKING

1. Design, Engineering, Supply, Building and Commissioning of pollution free Coke Oven Batteries (COBs) of 4.45 m, 4.5 m, 5 m, and 7 m height on Turnkey basis. The design includes latest features viz. U- type GCM, Pollution free Quenching System, Level-II automation etc. It also has the expertise of heating up of battery with LPG.
2. Design, Engineering and Consultancy services for Coke Dry Cooling Plants and Coal &Coke handling plants.

Over 37 COBs of height ranging from 4.45m to 7.0 m including both New and Re-built COBs have been Engineered, Constructed and Commissioned by MECON in last four decades and earned the distinction of becoming one of the very few organisations in the world to have done so.

• MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
  1. First Indigenous Coke Oven Battery Design of 4.5m height. Presently 732 Ovens of 4.45m, 4.50m & 5.0m height are under operation.
  2. First high capacity Coke Oven Battery Design of 7m height in India. Presently 677 Ovens of 7.0 m height are under operation.
  3. First Coke Dry Cooling Plant of 50-56 t/hr. Capacity in India. Presently 27 Chambers are under operation
  4. Heating-Up & Commissioning of 37 Coke Oven Batteries & 5 Coke Dry Cooling Plants with in-house expertise in last two decades
  5. More Than 15 Patents
  6. In-house R&D Projects such as Laser spotting devices, AP Water Seal, HPALA, Hydraulic Reversing Machine , U- type GCM, Pollution free Quenching System, Level-II automation & Coke Dry Cooling Technology etc.
